Le Meridien Dead Sea. See if anyone is selling their reservation in this thread- http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=11744.0 Of course, if you want a normal room make sure you don't get room 228. The food isn't mehadrin in the LMDS but you can enjoy the breakfast if you know whats mehadrin and whats not. Check the wiki for that.

Additionally, there is also a cafe cafe a few minute walk away that advertises themselves as mehadrin.

Depends on the price ::)
Only the Leonardo is officially mehadrin, but you would be fine in the Citadel or Inbal if you know what to ask the ask the mashgiachs.

Thanks for your help!

You're welcome. Did you end up finding a place to stay? Were you able to buy someone else's reservation?

Presumably מעשה שבת, although there shouldn't be any issue after בכדי שיעשו, I never understood this problem.
If it was done for you it's assur לעולם.
Being that it's a Jewish country, if the dairies know that they can sell the milk, it's to yidden that they'll be selling and that's called למי שנעשה בשבילו which is אסור לעולם like doing it yourself.

Great news for some of the IHG award chart changes in Israel.
Ashkelon down from 20k to 10k and CP in Jerusalem from 25k to 20k.
Unfortunately, everything else besides for IC is up 5k

I just did some fact-checking and I stand corrected. למי שנעשה בשבילו is not a problem by מעשה שבת, only איסור והיתר, even according to those who are machmir and say that it even exists by a non-religious Jew.

The issue with the milk is that this is the hashgochos way of giving an incentive for shmiras Shabbos. Rather than stand by and pretend it's okay, they say we won't give a mehadrin hechsher for something done on Shabbos. The reason WE can't say we don't care למעשה and just use any milk, is because once it's not considered mehadrin inevitably more problems arise, such as in regards to its cholov yisroel status (if it's not considered mehadrin why watch it) and IIRC, dairies that don't spill shabbos milk even their weekday milk isn't used for mehadrin runs.

Anyone ever stay in this place? www.windowsofjerusalem.com On orbitz it's listed as EXP Vacation Rental. Price, pics, amenities and location almost seem to good to be true.

Did you see they add on an extra cleaning fee? Also 10 minimum

The CP in Jerusalem is half off points for the last minute bookings. Only costs 12.5k points.

I'm looking for 1 night in Jerusalem with a mehadrin hechsher for breakfast. Which places are recommended? I'm not asking (yet) about prices, that I hope I'll be able to figure out on my own. I just want to know where I can eat and whats nice

while touring Galilee/Golan, where to stay
« Reply #357 on: January 31, 2013, 01:20:07 AM »
I'm going to israel for 10 days, and am planning on being north for a few days. I want to see some gallile and some Golan. should I look for accommodations in both places, or do I just take one place to stay and drive to my destinations? and while we're at it, what is the most recommended place to stay at?

Inbal is suppose to be one of the fanciest or "best hotels" in Israel. I have never stayed there but heard amazing things. I have stayed in Dan Panoroma many times and it was ok, or basically I got what I paid for. Inbal has a special on groupon now...

Inbal is not one of the fanciest hotels in Israel, or anything close to that.
