There are 2 ways to walk, some people prefer walking through the Armenian quarter.

You can get to the kotel just fine, either by walking through the Jewish quarter, or by walking through the arab shuk and following all the zhids walking to the kotel as well.

For the most scenic route, keep to the right and follow the road until you see an archway that says "St. James Way" make a left and follow that down until the "Rova" jewish quarter and take the steps down by the stores.
