For the most scenic route, keep to the right and follow the road until you see an archway that says "St. James Way" make a left and follow that down until the "Rova" jewish quarter and take the steps down by the stores.

Thanks so much!

Anyone know the best route to get to the Kosel from the Jaffa Gate? Is it safe to walk? is there a quick bus to take or is walking better? Thanks!
I used Google maps walking directions in the old city and it was pretty accurate.

Anyone have any suggestions on a good, reasonably priced hotel in Jerusalem for a weekend? Looking for something in a good area but not so expensive and with Friday night dinner. Could be a small no-name hotel, doesn't matter.

Leonardo Plaza.

For cheaper, worse, dirtier, and worse location you can do Grand Court. They have mehadrin food as well.
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

Is Grand Court so bad as you make it?

It was a relative statement to the Plaza. And in comparison to the plaza it is all of those things. I would be OK with the hotel if they actually cleaned the rooms.

You need to give us more information, so we can be helpful. For instance, is there anything you want to be near? What is your budget? Is mehadrin food at the hotel important to you?

Best means different things to different people.
