Thanks to whoever bumped this thread. I saw this thread and decided to look into a remote starter for my car to preheat or precool. Lo and behold I found a different forum that mentioned that it comes built in with something called Blue Link.

I always saw it shown on the dashboard but thought it was some good for the environment gimmick thing and never even looked into what it is but turns out it's exactly what I want
But it costs $100 a year which I think I'll pay for now to try it out.

I put one into my 2016 camry for $250 from bestbuy. (The one always posted on sd). Best thing i ever did. I ended up selling the car, but while i had it, it was great.

Just ordered this. Still have a few questions, but wanted to lock it in.

• Do all the buttons on the remote function? I’m told the trunk release might be its own setup.
• If I have push to start, does this replace my old fob?

IIRC the trunk button worked. I didnt have push to start so cant say for certain, but i wouldnt think so.

Seems to me this is better if you dont have push to start then. If you have push to start you cant leave your key as that would practically keep the car unlocked and ready to steal, in the car but if you have a manual key you can just hid it in an easily accessible place in the car and switch keys when you get in.
