Because the 1.5 is transferrable to CSR, the 2.5 is not.
And 1.5 has no annual fee, while 2.5 has a $195 annual fee.

I'd say it's a toss- up and depends how you use your points
On the one hand you have transfer to airline or hotels or get  cash back thru pay yourself back or for travel at 2.25% (1.5x1.5 thru CSR) and on the other hand you have slightly higher 2.5% much easier to cash out but no airlines/ hotel option

I am going guess this card will be added to the stable and not the only horse in the stable.
It is a no-brainer for SUB and anyone on the merry-go-round.

I wish they weren't marketing these as Ultimate Rewards points. Is their intention to confuse people? To change how UR points work? To get people to redeem for items at less than cashback value?

Equal, yes. More is a stretch. The CL is a huge plus here, as well as the uncapped 2% and the fact that it's a biz card that won't report to CB. Still meh overall, but could be worse.

1.5 from the ink unlimited and 5 from the ink cash on office transferred to CSR is worth 2.25 and 7.5 plus they are also biz and the ink unlimited is not capped

Agreed. I'm specifically talking non bonus spend here, so it's IU vs this card. So it comes down to 2.25 (only when redeemed for travel) but with potential for more(transfer partners) but on a smaller CL, or higher CL and only 2% back. Also, the IU needs a premium card to achieve anything over 1.5% so it's not free. At the end of the day, I'll probably use my unlimited until I max it, then use this card to finish it up.
