Passport expires within 6 months Israel travel Question?!

So I am booked to travel to Israel this coming week and of course I didn't realize my passport( USA) is going to expire in Jan. 2022

I spoke to the passport agency. No open spots for an emergency renewal …. But they looked @ travel.state.gov and it seems that as long as my stay is within the time that I have valid passport this will not be an issue.

Additionally, I spoke to the Airline... they too seem to be ok with this plan and added a comment to my reservation so that when I try to check in hopefully this will make things go smoothly.

Does anyone on the forum have any insight...

AFAIK, I had passengers flying on all airlines with no issue, I don't remember where I saw that it was due to Covid.

Israel never had a 6 month requirement.

It does seem that for Visa holders it is 6 months and for ETA 3 months. can anyone personally confirm that you're ok traveling with 3-4 months before expiration?

With El Al it's no Issue, other airlines don't know it so you might have issues
