Saw this story a few days ago.

I feel like there should be some recourse (maybe an accelerated pardon application) for people who are sentenced by judges who say "I feel like this is too much but I'm tied by mandatory minimums."

There is some sort of procedural thing I didn't understand, and it seems likely he will be resentenced on the 27th

I'm just waiting to see which Lakewood, New Jersey news site will post it first thinking that the story took place here (instead of Lakewood, Colorado).

None will be willing to admit they didn't post pictures of the actual accident

Governor commutes sentence to 5-to-10 years. (Don't know why media is calling it 10 years when in legal terms it's called 5-to-10 if there is parole eligibility after 5.

Is 5 years justice?
Found guilty:
six counts of vehicular homicide
six counts of first-degree assault
10 counts of attempted first-degree assault
six counts of careless driving
one count of reckless driving

Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

I don't know, but I know 110 years is not, primarily because the judge said that his hands were tied. In almost every case the judge says his hands are tied, the given sentence is not justice.

His sentence is 10 years. He will most likely be out in 5 or less unless he screws up. That is why I used the most likely time of 5 years.

Before we go 100 pages talking about two different things what is your definition of justice?

ETA: To answer your question in the general sense. Sometimes it is not justice as going straight to the chair would be justice.
I guess that will ruin the belief of some that I am a bleeding-heart liberal.
