If you are talking about threat to the world then remove Iran and replace them with NK.

If you are talking about threat to the US then Iran is nowhere on the list.

While Iran might not have the capability to launch missiles onto US territory, and they might not (yet) posses nuclear warheads, their tentacles spread wide and are a constant irritation (to say the least) on US and global (economic and other) interest.

Speaking on NATO, what happens if Iran gets something similar from China or Russia. While that is not good for the US we all know who will be screwed if that happens.

Putin is no fool, he has his interests, and does business with both Iran and China, but keeps them at bay! He couldn't have said it clearer than he did in the video clip I posted above. He doesn't want war. But at the same token he wants to protect Russian interests at Russia's doorstep. Germany (and much or Europe) is heavily dependent on Russia for energy. He knows that which might be why he's flexing muscles in the winter (which has brought many Russian foes to their knees throughout history).

Iran currently controls Lebanon (a tiny country at a strategic location) Syria and Yemen (another country at a strategic location). Other than it's own citizens, how many civilians (and soldiers) in other countries have been killed by NK? How many by Iran (including its proxies)?

Iran can destabilize the Middle East, and significant instability in the Middle East has game-changing global consequences. Another factor here is that Iran is a theocracy and thus their interests and decision-making go beyond territorial, economic, or political influence, which is a dangerous proposition.

The point is that Iran is currently running several terror and military conflicts (and has been doing so for years). NK is mainly global threats (and domestic terror).
