Not such a fan of this claim. There are countless people who aren't cut out for the typical Yeshiva format, and are extremely good at what they do in other areas, including chinuch.

I think I’m the particular circles that claim is made, the double whammy of dropping out at the age he did, plus joining the military would typically disqualify someone from any position of leadership or influence in the community.

The Gemara subsequently says her tefillah was answered. R’ Chaim asks, how could Shmuel have been merely average when we know he attained such heights that he is compared to Moshe and Aharon (Moshe V’Aharon Bekohanov UShmuel Bkorei Shmo)? He answers that indeed Shmuel was average, and even an average person can reach the greatest heights imaginable through diligence and persistence.

You're both taking this out of context - he's not saying this is how it should be. But as AsherO pointed out, in the context of the way things work in the charedi community of BB, the combination of his background and the positions he attained were unusual.

As Moshe Rabbeinu discovered in his first forays into communal life, while it may be easy to defend a Jew from an external aggressor, the opposite is true when Jews threaten each other. I know someone who served time (in Israel), and someone else who has been convicted (in Israel) but is appealing. In both cases, the acts (or alleged acts) took place many years ago. Their families have definitely suffered due to this. Neither of these people was a person of authority. In the second case that's being appealed the allegations are from family members (whom I don't know).

Just got the news that the person who was out on appeal is scheduled to begin a 6.5 year prison sentence in a week. After that was determined someone else came forward, saying that she is only coming forward now that the verdict is a done deal and her story won't make a difference.

I knew since high school that Aaron Teitelbaum is considered a molester. Doesn’t everyone? This is common knowledge.

). Every event he does he tags them and every other vendor he works with. There are a LOT of people complicit in covering up for his abuse. Including people on this website.
