Like many here, i have lots of whatsapp groups that post lots of messages daily. The big issue i have, is if i am hundreds of messages behind, and reply to a message, my whatsapp group will automatically shoot down to the present, and i have to scroll up to try and figure out where I left off.

Is there any way for me to reply to a message, but prevent the messages from shooting down to the most recent (Android)?

Second, less important question - Is there a way to automatically add contacts in groups to "my contacts" on my phone, if that information is available?

I believe the best way is to search the words you responded too. Alternatively you can use WhatsApp web and your phone to hold the place.

When you first open the chat, star the first unread message. Use that as your bookmark - jump back by viewing starred messages and then unstar. When you want to reply again, rnse & repeat.

If you quote (I don't know what it's called in WhatsApp) the message your responding to you can then click on it to bring you back to that place.

I had a different issue that I usually don't read a few hundred messages at a time and once I open a chat and leave in middle it Mark's everything as read. But I guess the star trick would work for that

Is there any way to sign uo to whatsapp with a third number on the same physical phone? My SIMcard number is private, my Google number is business, and I wanted a third number for whatsapp and texting. Is this only wishful thinking?

If you can have a duplicate app, like Samsung dual messenger, or knox work profile

Download and install gbwhatsapp apk (if you have Android).

u can get a number from textnow.com
u just need to log in every once in a while

LG V60 can with the Daul app and then you just download whatsapp business and you can easily have 3

If your phone supports dualapp, you just turn it on in the settings and you'll have 2 versions of WhatsApp and two versions of WhatsApp business. I don't use WhatsApp business, but I've attached a screenshot of what the two versions of WhatsApp look like on my phone (galaxy S8).

I'm not familiar with the other solutions, but if the above works for you, you don't need to worry about those other options.

If you have secure folder, you could get a 3rd whatsapp in there

That should be fine. @bluesky only needs 3. WhatsApp + WhatsApp + WhatsApp Business is enough.

Suddenly unable to download pdf files.

Anyone else have this?

Any suggestions? (I tried everything I could find online) whatsapp help says they don't help with media downloads.
