The people at Trumps rally were not prosecuted (peaceful protest). Those who marched on the capital were not prosecuted (peaceful protest). Those that stormed the capital (THUGS!!!) that resulted in injuries and deaths were prosecuted.

You can make it about politics all you want but it doesn't change the facts.

Please define "stormed." Is walking through an open door considered "storming"? What about if there are police standing right there who allow you in?

Come on. Pleading guilty is sometimes the smart move even if you believe you’re innocent. Exculpatory evidence makes a big difference.

I am close with a case where the fellow pleaded guilty and got probation to avoid facing 5+ years in prison at trial. There is reason to believe he was innocent although I cannot know for sure. He says the hardest part was signing (what he claims was) an outright lie that he did the deed of which they accused him.
