Topic Wiki

This thread is to discuss whether people feel that something is unethical, not to find out what the law*/T&C says.

Any Halachic questions should be posted here.

*According to CountValentine this includes religion, but unfortunately for him, the general consensus is that religion will always be entwined in this thread.

*Hint* If you have to ask, It's most likely not ethical.

... To download the APK of a paid app that they don't allow you to download in your country of residence?
if they don't let you pay for it of course you can take it for free
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Why in this thread? How is this an ethical question?
Wrong thread.
Reread my question, and I realize now that you're right. Chaim, I hope you can forgive me for being rude.
The reason I posted it here was because I was trying to continue a conversation that started as an ethical conversation a few weeks ago. My question today, though, wasn't addressing the ethical part of the discussion.

NP and to answer your question they can see all the bonuses you received if they look deep enough. It seems that they don't really care.

Can. I'm sure if they actually did look, they would not award the bonus again. I want to know if someone churns properly with a new FFN, could they still technically look his account up by SSN and decide not to give the bonus again? Or because there's a new FFN, they can't search him up properly to see if he ever got the bonus before?
Again, is your question could they set up a database to track based on SSN? The answer is most certainly yes. Does each issuer have such a database? That's anybody's guess
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

Right, I'm sure they could create a query to pull up that info if they actually wanted to. So, the more likely case is that they know and
they don't really care.
Just looking for more knowledge on the discussion to present to my Rabbi who said
"ehhhh"
to churning a card that requires a new FFN.

So, the more likely case is that they would prefer you didn't but for whatever reason it's not worth their time/effort to stop you

Nah, I feel like resident means you need to have an address.

if you are a resident what's the problem besides most such things have to do with legal things

Pure rishus (unless there was a breaking of T&C that led to the closure)

What about when they pay out 1 cent per MR for closed accounts
