Topic Wiki

This thread is to discuss whether people feel that something is unethical, not to find out what the law*/T&C says.

Any Halachic questions should be posted here.

*According to CountValentine this includes religion, but unfortunately for him, the general consensus is that religion will always be entwined in this thread.

*Hint* If you have to ask, It's most likely not ethical.

Delayed hatbox. Is it unethical to use the delayed luggage insurance for other "essentials" even though I'm only missing my hat?

Who's lying? They know it's a hatbox..and they would see receipts for what I purchased...either way not getting anything in the end but question still stands

no the question doesnt stand
you are discussing a hat box so you are announcing to the world you are "frum"
yet, in a public forum, you are discussing cheating the system to get free stuff
what G-d wants you to have, you will have

maybe part of being "frum" is double checking yourself to ensure you are not stealing. either way still unsure where the cheating is as there is no deception here.

So you mean that they are giving for essentials even though they know it is only a hat? If that is the case then enjoy.

He's not lying. He's saying that an essential item was misplaced (true), and that be purchased new essential items (also true). All terms and conditions were met. He's asking whether it's ethical, because the items being replaced have nothing to do with the items lost.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

now thats some pretty faulty logic there
if a person wears a hat, one typically assumes he is frum
no one ever said the converse is true
i, myself, disprove the converse, as i think of myself as frum, but don't wear a hat.
so please, dont sound foolish in trying to pick a fight
