at what point is it considered stealing. what if you forgot your cc in the car and walked out of the store with the GCs in hand with intent to return to the store and pay for it. (yes i know its a bit different)

No it is not stealing IMHO. Taking the card because you feel it has no value is stealing.

ok so if he is not taking the card because it has no value rather because he intends to pay for it at a different store how does that work.

Still sealing IMHO. The card does have a value/cost associated with it.
Just ask and most are happy to oblige. You should have seen the trunk of my car at one point.

How about one for you.

I use the ones from trunk without telling the store. Ethical?

well if the store you took them from gave permission why would it be a big deal to tell the store you are using them at?

The reason I don't tell them is because most likely they will tell me I can't use them.

Curious for opinions. DW is a early intervention therapists. She gets paid by the state thru an agency per session. The family is going on vacation and the parents insist (as a favor to the therapists) that they bill the sessions and "make it up some other time". All the other therapists are doing it so if DW writes family on vacation (need to report why session is Canceled if not doing) all the other therapists will be caught lying.

Just write "patient's family cancelled".

there is no shortage of reasons why they could possibly cancel one session in the middle of the day

There is and it's ten days writing that when every other therapist is going to report a session will certainly raise questions

So the question is whether its ok to be dishonest in order that coworkers aren't upset with you?
Cant imagine any LOR would allow you to do so, but would recommend asking

That's not really the question I was just trying to explain the predicament she is in.
Anyway I did already ask a posek and I was told it is OK as long as she makes it up. My wife and I are still uncomfortable with it which is why I was asking here to hear more opinions.
