Topic Wiki

This thread is to discuss whether people feel that something is unethical, not to find out what the law*/T&C says.

Any Halachic questions should be posted here.

*According to CountValentine this includes religion, but unfortunately for him, the general consensus is that religion will always be entwined in this thread.

*Hint* If you have to ask, It's most likely not ethical.

My father pre-ordered an iphone on Best Buy-
I pre-ordered off Sprint.

We ordered it as an upgrade- on the same line.

Both orders went through.

Thoughts on if one of us should cancel our order?

Of course we want both phones. We both paid the discounted upgrade price off the same line.

Or am I just missing your sarcasm?

in my opinion, and im sure hundreds will disagree, the SW refundable ticket shtik should not be posted on DDMS
not bc i think its going to disappear, but rather bc i think its assur, and even if you argue it isnt, its not type of thing that should be published on a jewish site

Bought an LG V20 from Sprint and ordered the free headphones from LG.
They already shipped.

For whatever reason, i returned the device to Sprint as an exchange due to a minor issue i was having.
When sprint does so, they charge you for the new device, and when they get the old one back they credit me for the old one.

So...can i complete the headphones request for another pair and use the receipt and proof of purchase of the second device?

There is a difference between doing an action and not doing anything at all.

I can't imagine he'll tell you that you can do it, they give one pair per phone, you didn't keep the phone.
ETA: I really have no way of knowing what your LOR will say but from my knowledge of halacha, I can't imagine that it would be mutar. (Then again, what do I know  :) )

I agree that he should get credit for going to ask a question but I don't think it's fair to say that a lot of people on here do things that are assur.

My phone screen cracked and I want to send it in to Motorola to fix it (still in warranty), how wrong is it to order a phone on Amazon with Prime Same Day and return it when my phone comes back? My brain is telling me that it's wrong, but my instinct is telling me to just do it ??? :(
