Getting Seats Together On United
« on: January 16, 2022, 02:32:08 PM »
Anyone have any ideas for the best strategy:

I booked flights through chase portal for round trip EWR to MCO.

I booked on United and selected the seating option that allows us to bring carryon and choose seat assignments. When I went to choose seats, for the return trip there were only scattered singles. We are a family of 10 with kids ranging from 16 down to 1.5 years.
I've been checking daily to see if seats open up and try to move us together, but not much luck.

DM United on Twitter. Ask politely if they can move some seats around so you can sit together with your kids. Worst case, they'll say no. IME, they were always helpful.

Thank you very much.
Any way to do without twitter? I can't access it.

Can call, but Twitter is just more convenient.

I have been in contact with United over the phone recently regarding an upcoming trip for my family of eight. They were very helpful and were able to get us all seated together. They even gave us the rows near the bassinet for the baby at no extra charge (I would have had to pay hundreds of dollars for those seats). There's just a very long wait time until you get to an agent.
