I hope the teenagers don't admit that the place was targeted because it's Jewish. The FBI might charge them with federal crime for defying the FBI

I agree with Dan, the proximity to the airport seems to be a large factor but non the less it was an attack on a shul (us Yidden) I'll take any bet that the terrorist neither knew or cared if its was a reform shul or a Gerr shteibal. We should all take this as a reminder that we are constantly under attacked and sit here and debate if halachicly the hostages were Jewish.

Not the airport, he said explicitly he targeted the closest synagogue to the prison.

Given the FBI's refusal to acknowledge the obvious motive here, what are the chances that their claim not to know the motive of the Las Vegas shooter is the same?

(To be clear, I am not suggesting that Las Vegas had anything to do with antisemitism, but that there is a similarly obvious motive, which the FBI is pretending not to notice.)

The fbi released a revised statement last night

The fbi released a revised statement last night

Would they have done so without the widespread public ridicule they faced?

In other words, here the information was public, so they had no choice but to concede the obvious. My "conspiracy theory" is that they have non-public information about the LV shooter that provides the same level of certainty as the public information provided here.

I hear. The one thing that any news story that involves them proves: the FBI is a joke.

Yup. Which is why I said -

Disband the FBI! Shut it down and start over fresh.

What do you mean? Are you referring to anger at casinos/MGM?

Wow that must have been a tough decision to throw a chair and run. Glad it ended well.

Total guess but I wonder if the gunman felt bad killing any of these innocent people, because even though the rabbi threw a chair at him he was still less than 3 seconds behind the last hostage when they ran out so I imagine he could've shot if he wanted to. At least he could've run out firing indiscriminately- I haven't heard that he ever fired a shot even though he likely knew he was done for at that point. Or maybe his gun jammed?

Regardless, glad it ended well. Definitely leaves me wondering though...

I have no idea what his motive is, because I don't have all the information that the FBI has.

But I think that there is a good chance that if the average person had all the information they would be able to say with a high level of certainty what the guys motive was.

I guess. He seems to draw the gun slowly as he opens the door, as though he never considered using it until then. Glad he wasn't any smarter.

For starters no way the government is releasing lady Al-Qaeda over some hostages on American soil.
After an entire day he has nothing to show for it. The hostages are fine & he's dead. What a waste of his last day on earth. I understand he got free pizza, but still

And here I thought that there was one part of the FBI (HRT) which actually accomplished something. Turns out the rescue wasn't even them...

They say that some rabbi's speak so poorly, they are the entire 'bored'. This rabbi was apparently the chairman of the bored.
