Basically that he wanted his sister (a Pakistani terrorist incarcerated for attacks in Afghanistan) released, and this wasn’t some coordinated attack on Jews. Not very comforting.

So what if this “Rabbi” had a poor personality, lacked social nuance, and/or sucked at doing his job, that wouldn’t justify him somehow “deserving” this. Here you can see the full raid. 2 hostages escape followed by the terrorist who quickly retreats back inside. Then they storm the place.
