I’ve done timeshare presentations a few times (actually through a DDMS Hilton post a few years ago) and have always used this tactic effectively.
Their whole starting point is calculating how much you spend each year on vacations and then convincing you why buying a timeshare is cheaper. If you start out saying you don’t spend a dime on vacations, you leave them wordless.
Exactly. Worked like a charm this summer- they make a presentation with their math and the numbers look embarrassing for them ($0 with points or thousands with timeshares) so they give a sheepish laugh and basically give up.
