Anybody have ideas

I have little kids who empty out my bookshelves no matter how tight I make the books.

I find it helps to buy packing tape in bulk, it helps when repairing the books.

Hope that the "problem" is still ongoing when they're older and that the frustration has transformed to nachas

and if using on the kid, do sticky side out first so it doesn't hurt coming off.

Only if you hide on your bookshelves. Then they will be emptying your bookshelves and THAT will be nachas!

I've seen people velcro heavy plastic across the bottom shelves.  I can't vouch for it working.

(Reminder to attach the bookcases to the wall so there's no chance of them toppling over.)

You might want to get one or both of these for another possible toddler little kid issue:

My toddlers figured out those light switches in 1 minute

After I buy something to baby proof I let my toddlers a go at it to see if it takeh works

I think that's the problem, if you give them enough time to focus on it, they'll figure out anything. If you just put them up, and don't make a big deal of it they'll try for a little bit and if it doesn't work right away they'll move to something else.

Not my kids, they don't give up easily. It took my 2nd kid a few weeks till he figured it out.
I had to buy a light cover that the only way to turn it on and off is by sticking a thin stick into it. Even that they eventually figured out but its much harder for them to do it
