1. We have found that sitting two rows (i.e. row 13 abc & row 14 abc) is better than side by side (i.e. row 13 abc & def).
It is advantageous for passing things. But most importantly it allows you to put your child who always kicks the seat in front of him in your second row and he will kick your seat and not another passenger's.

2. Bring lollipops or gum to chew/suck for landing. It helps for their ears.

Yes! My son is pretty well behaved in public settings, but when it comes to kicking the seat in front, he just can't help himself.

It isn’t malicious, it’s often restlessness, boredom, a sensory thing, or some combination thereof.

kids are one thing, but I've had adults sit with their feet up pushing on the back of my seat the whole flight!

It's also much more convenient for passing things and talking.

I know i'm not supposed to say anything nice about Spirit Airlines here but their flight attendants were great. They walked by us many times and other then one of them making a playful gesture to my daughter to raise her mask, they said nothing.
+1. Flew EWR-MCO and TPA-LGA with Spirit this week and they were great both times - especially on the return. I think my 3yo only had his mask on literally from the end of the jetbridge to our seats, and the other kids barely kept their's on. We had the second to last row A-F, and the last row was kept empty. The flight attendants in the back were super friendly with them, gave them Spirit stickers, free water when they were complaining about ours running out, etc.

1. We have found that sitting two rows (i.e. row 13 abc & row 14 abc) is better than side by side (i.e. row 13 abc & def).

I prefer this too, but on our flights this week where we didn't pay for seats we were given A-F.

What do you guys do regarding car seats and carriages?

2) this hand truck
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Milwaukee-150-lb-2-Wheel-Red-Steel-Folding-Hand-Truck/50373316?cm_mmc=shp-_-c-_-prd-_-dcr-_-ggl-_-PLA_DCR_232_Home-Organization-_-50373316-_-online-_-0-_-0&ds_rl=1286981&gclid=Cj0KCQiAip-PBhDVARIsAPP2xc2mWxypfvvStHUZLaIf34sBKBHo0RrFoB962m0jbMyi5O6K67cEKEwaAh3FEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
So in the past I've used a heavy duty version of this with built in straps. I bought this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004B9V1R2/ at some point, but couldn't find it before flying last week. So instead, I used the push on style LATCH connectors on my car seat (Evenflo Stratos, but any convertible with these style connectors would work) to attach to stroller hooks (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MU35UL6/) on my stroller (Britax B-Agile, but most strollers that size and up should work). Highly recommend it.

PreCheck.

By regulation, 2 year olds aren't supposed to take off shoes (or get wanded, I think, but not sure), so this case was one of a power trip, which could happen in pre check as well.

Far more likely to get an agent asking for shoes off from people too young or old in a non PreCheck line than in a PreCheck line where nobody takes shoes off.

Also, easier for a kid to go through a metal detector than to assume the position.

Ime, kids *have* to go through the detector and are not allowed to be asked to assume the position.

Shows the last time I went through with kids without Precheck :D

well, say you are flying el-al. chances are that you'll end up needing a shabbos toy.

What do you do if you have kids with ants in their pants and they just need to MOVE. Do you do laps around the plane? Does the staff mind this? Anyone have any experience?

How long is the flight? On longer flights it's very common to walk kids down the aisle, just make sure they don't do anything crazy to passengers. Crew won't mind if they aren't doing meal or drink service and seat belt sign is off
