Socks
« on: January 26, 2022, 09:53:04 AM »
Before anyone tells me that I should only invest in serious options and not risk my life savings on DWAC, look again at the title and notice that it says socks, not stocks. Now that that is clarified, let me get to my question.

I'm looking for recommendations for socks. I wear plain black socks, and I've tried numerous random ones off Amazon, and they all seems to grow holes in a matter of weeks. The Burlington green-toe ones are more durable, but I would rather without a toe-color, and a little softer than those as well.

Anyone have any recommendations for comfortable, long-lasting black socks?

Following.

Bonus points if they have ~70% cotton or more to reduce sweating...

I got a bunch of these in October and a couple have holes already, and they're not particularly soft or comfortable.

The cheap ones with polyester make your feet sweat the most.

I try to get with the most cotton.

Cole Haan socks have so far lasted the longest for me.

The holes are primarily at the ankle. And since Adam Hareshon, we haven't had nails there...

Theyre great.
I paid about a third of the price when it was on sale.
Ordered a set of 4 pairs. If they are good, I'll go for more.

The more pressure your socks feel at the ankles, the faster they will wear out. Maybe its time to hit the Peloton thread.  ;D

The 2 don’t go together. I used to get the Burlington, lasts long but hard & uncomfortable. Has too much nylon. I switched over to modal & bamboo socks, very soft & comfortable but wear out much quicker. Totally worth it though.

About 6 years ago there was a huge sale on dressy black 100% cotton gold toe socks from a random website for $1 each. I bought a ton and they lasted till today with no holes. only issue is the color is no longer black as its faded over the years. but im super impressed with the quality. however, gold toe has so many lines with varying quality. also not so cheap

I use the trim fit knee highs (yes girls socks) for the past 15 years. They are not very cheep but I never have issues with holes and they throw them out once in 3 years (They get too stretched out).
Money talks...mine says goodbye!
