Not to defend someone saying that they'll specifically pick a women over other qualified candidates (in an ideal world, I would simply look for the most qualified candidate, no matter who it is, aka colorblind), but at least that can make sense, since women vs men in the general population (I don't know the ratio of women to men in the judiciary) is roughly even so makes sense to find an equal amount of qualified picks in either. Limiting yourself to black women means you're pandering and not looking for the best candidate.

Your fallacy is there is no such thing as the best candidate. Kavanaugh is a prime example. What we have is qualified nominees. There are plenty of qualified black women just as there are plenty of qualified women.

We all know your upbringing has an effect on what is unbiased. I have an issue with just about all judges coming from Ivey league schools.

Qualified people from diverse backgrounds are a good thing. That is all he is doing.
