I think 100 times more people are worried about a liberal serving than a Black serving. Conservatives already have a respected Black on the bench. Just because a Conservative says that she's qualified doesn't mean that she won't vote far liberal, which is what half the country doesn't want.

ETA: Lets remember the push back came before they knew who it was. So, qualifications and being too liberal are not even in the picture.
