Problem with a Hyatt
« on: July 23, 2011, 04:25:50 PM »
Last week, my brother stayed at the Grand Hyatt in San Diego for 5 days, and he used a suite upgrade cert but when he got to the hotel they said they only had part of his stay with a suite.  Eventually he moved from room to room and they kept on telling him that suites are becoming available, but they never did.

1) where's the best place to make a complaint(Ft concierge, email,call)?
2) what is realistic to be expecting out of this situation (besides getting back that ugrade cert)?

any experiences..

I had a bad experience in a Hyatt in Dearborn (wasn't even so bad) .  Someone booked the room for me so I didn't even pay for it.  I called the Gold Passport number.  I was not even a Gold Passport member at the time.  They gave me a 18,000 points so that I should be able to stay at any Hyatt I want in the future.  If you are a Gold Passport member, and forsure if you are a Diamond member, I would definitely ask for credit for all the nights.  You need to play it up obviously but I think there is definitely potential for a lot of compensation.
