Unpopular opinion: just because someone is a "freak of nature" and is able to hit extremely high notes - doesn't make it pleasant or enjoyable to listen to musically. Sticking to normal scales while being pitch perfect is a lot more to my liking.

I don't know why so many JM listeners are obsessed with a singer's range or how high they can go. It's a parlor trick - but not something I'd want to hear more than occasionally.

1000%. At some point it is not pleasant.
Having said that, it is unreal how he maintains control of his voice at such a high range.
Never have I heard a male singer even come close.
