American Airlines Main Plus?

I just booked a flight from JFK-TLV and it gave me the option of Main or Main Plus. The Main Plus indicated that for an extra $50 there was an additional checked bag, but my confirmation email says only 1 checked bag per flight. Anyone have experience with this?
