Masks for 2 yo on domestic airline
« on: February 02, 2022, 10:41:45 AM »
Any recommendations for domestic airlines which are not strict on making a just-turned-2-year-old wear a mask on the plane? He doesn't need to wear one at daycare and has never worn one before and it just won't end well if we try to mask him for a 2+ hour flight

Just carry on as if he is under 2 and hopefully no one will stop and ask

All airlines have strict rules. Some FAs enforce the federal mandates, some do not.
On my UA flight CLE-FLL they didn't care. On my UA flight FLL-CLE they were extremely strict with my young children.

Fake news. Sure, some FAs won't ask, but there are some sticklers and they're happy to toss you or try to divert the flight.

What? How insensitive? Your 2-year-old child endangers other babies at daycare? All kidding aside, there is potential for problems on every airline, and is really based on the FA not the airline. L'Maissa, if you can manage to keep it on until takeoff, that is 95% gaurantee that you'll make it to your destination, but this can happen sometimes

If the kid can pass as under two, what are they going to do, ask for a birth certificate?

Look at the manifest?
I guess if you book the ticket with a fake DOB that will work. Note that you shouldn't attach a mileage number if you do that.

Your kids have their own mileage accounts?
