You could tell right off the bat that you wouldn't see it on a printed map, so I figured I'd randomly guess and adjust based on distance.

The only one I ever didn't get was Guernsey.  I had guessed Andorra and it said something like 500 miles away to the Northwest.  Even zooming in, I saw nothing to guess, but then again I was looking in the Bay of Biscay, not the English Channel.

Same here, Guernsey was quite frustrating, I was thinking there is Jersey and the other territories but absolutely no country.

Globe games was a good guess, wordle had the country with the most strategic geological feature today in its north west.

Yup. Though today's globle game demonstrates how modern geography is harder than what it used to be in the 1980s. Back then just plain Yugoslavia would have covered so many of current day splinter countries.

Mistake in today's Worldle.  They are missing part of the country/territory, which should be apparent from its name.
