Reset Old laptop-Windows XP

I have this old Laptop+ Dell Lattitude D520. Would someone be able to walk me through how to reset it get rid of everything on it and reinstall windows (Says on it "Designed for Windows XP")?

it most likely doesnt have the power to be very useful, I'd turn it into a chromebook https://www.neverware.com/freedownload

Primarily I want my kids to just use it to print up reports word no internet needed.....

What's the specs? Perhaps it can handle Windows 7
