I've heard that some sites have been having issues from excessive traffic from AI scrapers, maybe that's what it is? Traffic is up significantly. I've heard using anti robot services like cloudflare helps.

As he says, it's easy to block using Cloudflare tools (the domain is already on Cloudflare for DNS, you just need to turn on Proxy, if their simple proxy doesn't help you can take even more control with their special AI Crawler settings.)
