I'm looking for an approximate $ value for marriott points. Before when it was SPG Dan valued the SPG points at 1 point = $0.02 and we would get 1 point per dollar from the SPG Amex.
There was a value conversion whereby 1 SPG point was worth 3 Marriott points.
Now the Marriott Amex only pays 2 points for every dollar so 66% of it's previous amount. Plus the redemption value of Marriott points shifts with the price of the room.
I have a family member who asked me to book him a room and he would pay me for the points and I'm trying to determine how much for how much.
If anyone can offer some insight that would be truly appreciated.
