Bring shawarma from Israel to US

I'm currently in Israel and my Brother in law sent me this text:
"Can you bring me a veal shawarma in a laffa from halo taman when you come for the wedding"

I would like to do it,
Is this possible?
Can meat be brought from Israel to us?
If yes, what would be the way to do it?
buy it, then freeze? bring in cooler bag in luggage? carry on?
Any Ideas/Suggestions??

when i was a bachur (a ways back) i got caught bringing in deli and they told me i would need to pay in cash. i told them i only had 175 and they took that and pocketed it. i only realized afterwards what actually happened...

Considering that it's from Halo Teiman you can probably garner a lot of interest from all those that want a bite of nostalgia. You can place a large order, charge a small commission and that can cover the fees if you are stopped.

He wasn't going through US customs with them.  Israeli customs might have been OK with allowing it in.

Lol. Back in the day in Shor Yoshuv guys would fly to Miami for lunch and come right back.


….as I do for my kids when I travel and they ask for a souvenir, I order it on Amazon and have it there when I return….perhaps just bring back some wrapping and buy the shwarma at your local spot when you arrive  :D ;)
