Russian GDP is $1.5T per year, gas sales to Europe are negligible. There are other buyers, so the difference is marginal country.
Well, if they wouldn't be using it, there would be no leverage left to cut it off. And what would we gain by cutting Russian energy now anyways? They are clearly not responding to sanctions.
If my math is correct, oil and NG exports to Europe is at least 10% of 1.5T GDP. Definitely significant.
Europe can buy Russian oil and NG even if they're not completely reliant on them. Just like the US does.
Right now Russia is still getting EU financing for their wars via energy sales. If we cut them off they'd have a much harder time, even if it takes some time to force them to pull out.
