High natural gas prices are good for coal. WV also has an oil and gas industry.

Regardless, he is correct that we need to increase domestic production to bring down prices and lower demand for Russian oil. Russia will sell less of it for a lower price.

I don't think the US stopping imports of Russian oil will affect coal. We will just get oil from someone else and someone else will get the Russian oil, it's a global market.

All the calls for more renewable energy are completely tone-deaf. While it can make sense over the long term, it will do absolutely nothing to help this crisis. For right now we need to swap foreign fossil fuels for domestic fossil fuels. We need to do everything in our power to bring down the global price of oil, that's what will really hurt the Russians and it will reduce the funding we are providing the Russians for their war.

Both are true. Renewable energy is a great long term goal. Forcing it when we are not yet ready for it brought Europe to where it is now. It is not a solution to the current issues right here and now.

Depends how renewable technology advances. Many of the issues have been helped by fracking and increased domestic supply.
