The more I see of this it looks like this isn't a superpower military.
You're seeing pretty one sided coverage. Our media may not be as governmentally controlled as Chinese or Russian, but it's still pretty slanted.
In general, an underdog has a coverage advantage, because any victory of theirs is celebrated and flaunted in the face of the more powerful opponent as a major humiliation, and any defeat they suffer either isn't really reported as a classic dog bites man or is used as example of abuse that poor defenseless underdog is undergoing. It's a general issue with imbalanced conflicts.
Israel is used to dealing with both sides of the desk in this (either as underdog when dealing with other countries much larger and better funded than them, or as big dog when dealing with terrorist groups).
So far we haven't really been hearing of any major Ukrainian defeats or upsets except in the context of martyrdom and great heroism. We're not really getting a transparent picture of situation on ground, because our feeds are flooded with man bites dog stories.
