question about booking on turkish for the first time

Hi! Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, I looked but couldn't find anything. I'm new to Turkish.
Tried booking for my parents w/Turkish and the site says "You can issue the first ticket only to your name in order to verify your membership. Subsequently, you can issue award tickets for other persons as well."
So I booked EWR-CLE OW for myself on United, just so I'd have a first booking, but got the same error again.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Yes. I booked and flew with an award ticket and still get this error message.
You need to book on the phone.

Every booking for someone other than the account holder has to be done over the phone. Always.

Thanks! Over the phone they were some issue where they want the cardholder to verify it’s legit… at the airport or at a TK ticketing office. Ever had this?

yes just ignore and say cardholder will verify etc. as long as its not tk metal you are fine

In general, only saver awards are available to partners, with all airlines.
