IMPORTANT - ODESSA
Bh we were successful to take out 2 double level buses. Each one 70 people for a total of 140. One bus went to Moldova - Romania that will cost 7k and the other went all the way to Berlin to the hotel he rented for the orphans that cost 15k. I showed him the picture of the woman and daughter that came to NY from Odessa and he was choked up. She was his neighbor in his building.

IMPORTANT - NIKOLIAV
We took out today 57 people. 1 big bus of 49 and one small mini van of 8 ppl. The mini van was carrying a family that the mother is sick with cancer. She was ok in Nikoliav but we sent doctors with her to watch her the whole time. When she finally reached Kishininev she was in trauma from fear of the escape. They are trying to deal with her together with some emergency teams in Moldova and send her for medical care in Israel asap. I called as the Rabbi received her in Kishininev and offered him to connect him with many organizations that offered us their help in that area.

Here is a quick report. We will detail this as the info comes in. Bh we were successful to take out 300 people today from under fire in Chernigov. They are currently on the buses. Included in this group are the people Mark asked that we try to save. The parents of someone he knows. Maria Shamruk and Victor Shamruk!

Wednesday update (Last day I'm going back to)

IMPORTANT - ODESSA
Odessa is a main city on the port and the Russians are starting to make moves to attack. There was bombings the whole night. There are 24 Russian ships in the Black Sea facing Odessa. Bh we took out a few buses today, 155 people - 3 buses.

IMPORTANT - CHERNIGOV
There are 170 people that called to come out it is extremely dangerous for them. But we cannot pick them up til Friday as the vehicles took a lot of fire and the drivers need rest.

IMPORTANT - SHOTSKA AND KANATOPA
These two cities were under fire and we were able to take out 50 people with police and army. The rest were afraid to go. Now that they saw it was successful and bh nobody was hurt, a lot more want to come out. The 50 people cannot go to Kiev as we usually have done as there is a lock down for 48 hours. Instead they are heading to a different city which will take them 2 days.

IMPORTANT - NIKOLIAV
The Rabbi of xxxxxx left the city to go to Xxxxxx Moldova to help the refugees and deal with an emergency situation. The autistic child we took out in an ambulance on Monday with his mother and grandmother had a big issue. The child had a very bad infection in his leg in Nikoliav before they left and did not want to go to the hospital there to treat it as they were worried they would lose the opportunity to get out. Today the infection erupted and he needed an emergency operation on the spot, the Hatzalah in the refugee camp stabilized the child through a procedure and brought him to the hospital in Moldova. At the same time the grandmother had a possible heart attack and was brought to a different hospital. The mother is now shuttling back and forth to two hospitals watching over them. So Rabbi xxxxx from xxxxx came to help, he will go back for Purim but return again. Today we took out 66 people on one large bus (cost 8k)and one small one (cost 4500).

IMPORTANT - ZAPAROSA
Today we sent out a bus of 47 people mostly people from xxxxxx but includes a few of the people who came overnight from xxxxx. A true war zone. Some said they survived drinking the water from the mikveh. Bh there are more that will be arriving from Mariopal today as they are already out and on the road to xxxxxxx (17 ppl). In regards to the issues we had with people not wanting to leave because of the refugee situation over the border, we found a hotel near the border in the carpaccian mountains near xxxxxxx that has space for 180-200 people I will let you know costs when its available. Over there it is very quiet and hasn't been affected by the war, so we can relocate people there and when we find them places in Hungary etc we move them out.

From what I last heard, Israel is not making it easy for Jewish Ukrainians to arrive unless they are already Israeli citizens. Even if they have friends/family. And even more difficult if they aren’t making Aliyah. They’re processing a meager couple hundred applications a day. Israel canceled a flight this week because not everyone had proper clearance yet. Many refugees that left Ukraine are in a dire situation and it’s expensive and difficult to support them. For $300 a ticket they can be flown to Israel and out of harms way but Israel can’t be bothered to care.

I heard from someone in a prominent organization that a lot of the "Jewish refugees" are not Jewish.  Maybe Israel is checking into the applicants.

One of the issues is that they learned to come without a passport or any docs to verify their claim so israel wont be much if a help either

Firstly, we have over 1000 people who reached out to us requesting extraction and the team is working hard to try and pinpoint the people but as you can imagine it sheer chaos on the ground there.

We spoke with Rabbi xxxxx  and we told him we will cover his costs are to get more buses, Especially since most of the people we extract from dangerous areas are sent to xxxxxx
We finally received the amount of buses and passengers today. Bh we can say over the past week we took out 13 buses that had a total of 525 passengers!

Yesterday on Shabbat we took out 2 buses; one double decker w 65 people and one single large bus w 55 people they went to xxxxx so it cost a little more. Total lives saved 120!!

IMPORTANT - xxxxxx
Today there were no buses from this town. The lady who suffered with cancer and then trauma bh received the necessary treatment and was bh brought to xxxxx on a plane. The autistic child and his family are still being treated in xxxxxx We are now dealing with an additional cost besides the food, medicine and the buses we cover, their is a need for protection eg. Board up the windows in the homes as many are being blown away and relocate families from tall buildings to lower apartments. These are generally families that have men in military ages that cannot leave.

Just amazing how the tables are turned.
In WWII refugees made up names, passports etc. Anything NOT to identify as Jewish, so they can saves their lives.
Now, non-Jews are the ones trying to save themselves by specifically identifying as Jewish.

Yesterday bh we took out 300 people from the city and the number is now confirmed. The story was crazy and I explained yesterday. Since the bridge was blown up we were not able to bring the medicine into the city that we prepared on the bus but we left it in an area with a guard to watch it until we have a plan. While the people were running accross the destroyed bridge with gunfire one woman was shot and treated.

Tomorrow we plan on going back in with the special cars that drive through water to cross the river and take out elders and sick. Today we did not have a mission to go in as we were retrofitting a bus to be like an ambulance to lay down multiple sick people at once so we can evacuate them. The bus will wait on one side of the river as the military car goes back and forth.

There was one lady who is deaf that we tried four times to get her but were unsuccessful. One time we reached her home and since she us deaf did not hear us knocking. Tomorrow we will break open her door and have a pre tapped video of her son telling her dont be afraid they are here to save you.

I want you to understand the videos I sent you this morning is from the second group we sent in to xxxxxxxx. Xxxxxxx told me he used to give a class once a week to non Jews in his shul about the seven laws of Noah. One non jew from his class offered to risk his life and save Jews for the Rabbi without being paid a penny if we can get him a car. So we bought a car and the man driving it is the non Jew. See message from one of our committee members Jack Srour, we xxxxx out the names to protect him.

xxxxxxx is the son of the Rabbi of xxxxxxxx. He was working in the [Brooklyn] command center. A few day before Purim after working closely to help his community back home he picked himself up and went back to Ukraine. When asked why, his answer was to give my people strength. Imagine that, a 23 year old kid goes back, reads the Megillah for them and gives them strength. On his way out he evacuated  a car load with him. On the way an older man had a heart attack and died of shock. He stops the car at a local town, found people that can bury him and continues on with saving the other lives. You can imagine the emotional roller coaster this young man has been through.

This all from a 23 year old boy. These are our heroes !

It an honor to be in the same room with these young men who are ready to sacrifice everything for there people. Jack
