I recall seeing a video of R' SB Sorotzkin asking a certain question, I can't recall what it was or what the response was, but it almost seemed like he didn't like it and was trying to argue with R' Chaim.

Same with the other video. For sure they were trying to argue with R Shteinman and get him to say it's okay for the school not to take those kids, but the laughter was for the good sharp lines, not because they were disagreeing with it (laughing with, not at).

Honestly, maybe it's me, but I really don't see how laughter is in place. Humility, acknowledgment, are what I would expect.

people will generally only accept the psak they want anyway. cf vaccines

i agree totally not called for ...i think its there way of dealing with the fact that he is upset and not giving them the answer they want to hear

Never heard this story before. At first glance what crossed my mind was Yehuda and Binyamin which the bais hamikdash was built on both of their land.
