I don't usually do the full puzzles after Wed, but was inspired to give Thurs a try.  I got only halfway through, and could see it had a fun theme, but couldn't go further.  So I gave it to my mother, who finished it.  Paper, so not timed. 

But then I followed your link, and the Seattle Times had a different puzzle.  I did that one in 26 minutes and change.  Apparently it appeared in the NYT 5 weeks ago, so I guess it qualifies as a DEAL - Wait 5 weeks, and get the puzzle for free.

It says at the bottom they syndicate it, if they choose not to charge that’s their prerogative (obvs. The Times is on board with that too).
