Anyone own or use a superautomatic caoffee machine like the philips?

We have the Breville Barista Touch. We
Make about 6-8 cups of coffee a day for our household.
So far so soo happy with it.
Has a bean grinder and an auto frother.

seems like a great deal. should I just pull the trigger on this? $600 still seems like a crazy amount to spend on a coffee machine, especially since it would be replacing my melita which costs pennies per coffee

What makes you think the per coffee cost would go up compared to the Melitta?

that's true. so i guess the question is, how much better is this coffee vs a melita which I own already

Which model Melitta do you have? Chances are coffee quality in itself won't change much, Melitta is good quality. You should compare features and your need for them.

it's cheap and easy though

Same here, I have the Phillips 5400 LatteGo and love it. I use it every day (except Shabbos) for at least 3 - 4 cups/day. Yes the price is steep, I got it for a few hundred off retail after factoring in coupons, cash back, etc, but it was still very expensive (around $700). I do not regret my decision and am happy with the 5400 over the 4300 & 3200. Some features I thought I'd use from the 5400 I don't use at all but overall am still happy I went with the 5400.

As far as "taste" I cannot give an accurate review since
a) I have nothing else to compare too, the machine I had before was a standard Cuisinart drip coffee maker that was 15+ years old.
b) I like my coffee sweet and lots of cream so I typically add flavored creamer to it, or sugar.

The Philips is a good machine, and it is automatic, it would likely make you many good lattes

I don't doubt it. I guess I'm really just trying to justify in my mind spending that much if I can do similar for cheaper. Eg Melita and buy a milk foamer

It's not to compare manual vs. automatic especially for a starter, I would say it is worth the price if you want to get daily drinks without spending much time.
