Not like this, there aren’t. I’ve done tens of thousands of dollars in bank account bonuses over the years and this is the best I’ve ever seen by leaps and bounds. To put it into perspective, I previously opened this checking account with a $500 bonus and that was considered a fantastic deal. $1,500 a pop for 5K for 30 days, no fees, and no DD? Unbelievable.

Don't discount the requirement to go to a physical location (i.e. spend 60-90 minutes). Most other bank account bonuses can be done from home and in less than 10 minutes. Is it worth it? Sure. But it's not as black and white as you make it (especially considering it's pesach season, and the worth of 60-90 minutes is much more expensive now )

Eh. Get the coupon and schedule an appointment at a time that works for you in the next month. It’s an hour total, and I assume you can get it done in less if you need.

This is assuming you have a branch relatively close. I would guess it’s still worth it to most people to travel a solid amount, but that definitely dilutes the deal.

There are two in Lakewood and plenty of others in Ocean County, DW went to the Jackson branch on County Line and the banker said she was wondering why so many people were scheduling appointments.

As an introvert, I hate when this happens. Same reason why I never did the Mint coin MS strategy. Anything (game related) that requires human interaction - where they realize something is amiss - makes me uncomfortable.

(I'll likely do this one - but I greatly prefer the online advantage of the other bank bonuses.)

I get what you mean, but this is an advertised bonus with no shtick. It’s not like you’re gaming the system, you’re just taking advantage of an awesome bonus, much like applying for a credit card offer that’s publicly available.

Last one I did with Santander I made it clear to the banker that I'm just doing it for the bonus, and they were fine with it.
