HKG, Thailand, Australia
« on: January 05, 2012, 06:47:03 PM »
I'm going to make a mini rtw trip, I will be in Hokg Kong, Thailand [chiang mai and bangkok], and Australia [not sure where maybe someone could suggest what's the best option for 3 Days].

Please suggest which travel accessories and books are A must for this type of trip.

Thanks

You may even be able to pull off ayers rock and Sydney or ayers rock and gbr unless you wanna stick to one location

In 3 days? Stick to one place.

Ayers rock is very cool but there is nothing to do there after one day. Therefore if you wanna push it a little you can spend two days in Sydney or gbr and ayers rock. I agree it's tight but ayers rock is very short and very cool. I did the gbr and ayers rock in three days.

Kata Tjuta
We did Kata Tjuta right after we landed in middle of the afternoon, which was their winter. Then made it to the rock for sunset of course. Next morning did sunrise, followed by a hike around the entire ayers rock and then swam and showered at hotel followed by afternoon flight to the gbr. Only thing we missed were the kangaroos!

Stick to MEL or SYD. If you like exotic stuff, head to the Blue Mountains outside of Sydney on an organized tour or by train (10,80 AUD).

in CNS, you can do the Great Barrier Reef for an entire day + go to Kuranda gardens where you can hold a Koala and walk through a real rainforest

Either way, stick to one place in Australia, as just getting over the jetlag (if applicable) + getting to and from the airport, ... Make the best of it

travel accessories: sunglasses + sun screen, swimming trunks
in terms of information, just stick to tripadvisor and wikitravel
