Dell AMEX billing problems.

On 12/31/2021 I realized that my November order isn't shipping on time to take advantage of the sem-annual Dell credit on the AMEX BP, so I went ahead and purchased some XBOX gift cards.

Alas, something seems to have gone wrong on Dell's side, and the charge didn't (fully) come through, though I did receive the XBOX GC codes.

Now Dell keeps on asking for me to make a payment, and I keep on telling them it's their issue, the payment was authorized by AMEX, and I have no idea what issues they might have had with billing AMEX, but I am not making another payment for something that I would have had for $0 out of pocket.

Any other DPs of this type (and how to deal)?

Sadly, not an uncommon issue.

If you don't make it right, they'll likely send to collections.

@Dan Maybe you can make your contacts at AMEX aware of the issues with AMEX, substantially reducing the value of the credit.

And... you didn't pay for it. May be their fault, but you're not going to successfully dispute.

I've had this exact situation and they didn't send to collections. I doubt they will. I had a different case where I disputed and won, that went to collections.

I ignored them, few years later haven't heard back BH. In the other case I disputed with amex and won, but Dell sent it to collections.. amex then refunded me again to pay our for it essentially

I thought keeping it simple to one card and only eGift Cards being ordered should run smoothly, but besides adding sales tax, which should not be added to GC sales, I am faced with

 Ended up requesting new card numbers from Amex (lost card) and order went through on new card
Common sense is not a gift, it is a punishment.
Because you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it.

Order went through. I bought XBOX GCs and have the codes, but it didn't post to AMEX.
