This is a service that provides text message based info for people who don't have a smart phone or don't have data. I know this works for USA and Canada. You have to send a text message to 1 (312) 313-1234 with the right format depending on what you want
This service has become a paid service in the last few months. I have found that since this became a paid service (pay per text), I dont use use it nearly as much as I used to (bc i dont want to pay). Being that the service claims that they pay for every text sent, it seems very silly to me, considering that there should be many services that allow you to text for free. So the solution here would be to make a silmilar program that uses a free texting platform. I would pay someone on somewhere like fiverr to do this but I want to get a basic idea of what it requires. Or maybe someone has a better idea of a solution to this?
Every sms platform pays per text.
Twillio has monthly pricing starting at $500/month that could support up to 100 messages a second. So while there is technically a cost per text it’s minuscule at scale.

Only 3.5¢ per text
OK. I see that I misunderstood how this works. I just need it for personal use and I figured that I could program it with something like Google voice or some sort of other free service. The biggest need I have for it to find businesses in my area. I have a LG classic so it was very useful, and I was looking to recreate it in a free way
If you have the technical know-how you can have a small scale service for personal use set up free via Google voice or GroupMe
Does Google app script integrate with Google voice?
There's no native support but you can use Gmail as an intermediaryhttps://stackoverflow.com/questions/11388640/is-it-possible-to-use-google-apps-script-to-send-a-text-message-when-a-missed-ca
