What do you mean by "be very careful"?
Make sure you have docs to backup anything you report.  They are very 'nit-picky'.

Do you need to do it 2 weeks after you get a job, or can you wait 3 months until you are up for renewal and then let them know. That letter will anyways take a few months until someone gets to see and process it?
Either way they will backdate the 2 years to begin the day your income became too high. Might as well be upfront at the beginning instead of waking up a few months later.

+1 they get very mad if they don't get notified right away.

BTW I faxed in a change in income letter months ago, never heard anything back from them...

After reapplying at the end of last year, I got the extension (due to raise), but they backdated the extension to January 2013 so the 2 years turns into less then 1. Is this the process or should I fight it?

IME, I went to Hooper.  But, that was a few years ago.  B'H, I have not had the need since.

I don't know what I'm looking for. Do any of these include United Healthcare Community Plan?

Is she a dependant or does she file her own taxes?

last year a dependent...
Is the fact that she is currently covered not a problem?

The fact that she is currently covered is not an issue, they will just make jerseycare cover as a secondary. The fact that she was a dependant on the most recent tax return might be an issue

This is from the jersey family care website: http://www.njfamilycare.org/q_and_a.aspx#5

Is it true that applicants for NJ FamilyCare must be without health insurance for 3 months before they can be eligible?

Yes, this is true. However, there are exceptions to this rule, such as if you lost your insurance because your place of work went out of business or you were laid off. Depending on income, other exceptions may apply for families privately paying for health insurance or for COBRA benefits. We strongly urge you to call 1-800-701-0710 and speak with a Health Benefits Coordinator to find out if any exceptions apply to you.

Is this rule only for family care not "jersey care"?
