My daughter was born while my wife was on jersey care so she has insurance for 1 year- till end of July .
I received a renewal pack in the mail and promptly filled it out, I don't think she'll be eligible. Still haven't heard back from jersey care though.
My question is what happens after July 31, is she automatically cut because the year is up? Or do I need to wait for a cut letter- or some kind of update on my application.
Thanks

I know from experience that it does.
So once they file 2017 taxes (w/o any capital gains), can they immediately get on in 2018?

And in the meantime, what insurance should they look for for their (unborn) baby?

I actually called Legal Services since it was due to a one time item and there were some changes etc from when I applied until they sent the termination. Legal Service got us back on. I do not know if they can help you, but it is worth a call if the cap gain is clearly a one time thing.

What insurance do they have now while she is expecting?

For longer than 30 days? I think 30 is by regulation.

not sure. not all will even cover for 30 days if it's not the policy holder (or his spouse) who is giving birth.

Got my cut letter today.
I have 12 days to find new insurance.
Any options out there for a 1 year old? Myself and my wife have our own insurance.

You can't have either include a child?

Wife on parents plan.
I have a stupid essentials plan- it may make sense for me to get a plan with my daughter. Would I even have a special enrollment period?

Since you got a involuntary termination you should be eligible to get a subsidies plan on the exchange .

Per the CFR › Title 42 › Chapter IV › Subchapter C › Part 435 › Subpart G › Section 435.603 (b)

Family size means the number of persons counted as members of an individual's household. In the case of determining the family size of a pregnant woman, the pregnant woman is counted as herself plus the number of children she is expected to deliver. In the case of determining the family size of other individuals who have a pregnant woman in their household, the pregnant woman is counted, at State option, as either 1 or 2 person(s) or as herself plus the number of children she is expected to deliver

Can someone help me find the state option for NJ for this?

Cant find it... here is a link to start http://www.lexisnexis.com/hottopics/njcode/

ETA Its here I think: http://www.state.nj.us/humanservices/dmahs/info/resources/medicaid/2014/14-12_Affordable_Care_Act.pdf

Quote
In addition to the rules that will follow, New Jersey has elected to continue to include
a pregnant woman as one, plus the number of children she is expected to deliver.
Anyone that has a pregnant woman included in their household will also add the
number of children she is expected to deliver. If the father of the unborn child(ren)
and pregnant woman are not married and living together, the expected children are
not included in the father’s household until after the children are born. Also,
counting step parents in a household will no longer be optional, step parents and
their income will be included.

Got a question, my kids are currently covered by jerseycare with the state, but now due to a status change, they're eligible to be covered by the county. My question is, what's the easiest and quickest way to do that? It's impossible to talk to anyone by the county and I've talked to people by the state and haven't really gotten anywhere, one said they'll send out any application and I still haven't received anything and it's been a couple months, another said they'll reach out to me but it might take up to 45 days! Does anyone know the best way to switch over? TIA

IME, nothing gets done until you go down to the office. They'll say you just have to wait for a response in the mail, but somehow you'll get the letter two days later...

Thanx! Was thinking to do that, but I wasn't sure if it would help at all. Which office? In Trenton or the one on hooper Ave? Also, should I bring any papers to show that I'm eligible or is that not necessary?

I was told about a way to get a Visa gift card for scheduling a doctors visit annually through United Health Care. Anyone know info on this?
