I understand but do not have any experience with the MVC offices in "not lakewood" and figured they would be more or less this same. Friday happens to be the busiest day IINM.
Good to know :) they also said the beginning of the month is busier, that's why I'd wait if I can
Why would you need NJ driver's license to apply for Jersey care? What if you do not drive?  You need ID and proof of address. That can be done without a license
True. The question is if we have other ID/proof of address.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Usually the end of months is the busiest. All Licenses etc expire at the end of months.

Just wondering if they'll ask for it, or if we can wait 'til bein hazmanim to hang out all day at the DMV.

Thanks
Ime and I've been told this by the ppl working at the mvc ur best bet is the morning. It can be really quick if u just get there 9 930 before there r any real lines there.i don't remember now but the lady there had a full breakdown of how much time it costs u every minuter after xx.
(all this assuming u have ur mornings open)

Interesting, thanks! (I was told that if you get there when they open, there are often many people waiting. I guess waiting an hour or two helps. Or else YMMV!)

Before 9 there are only 1 or 2 people working. At 9 the whole staff comes so if you come between then and when the seniors come from leisure village etc. you should be out quickly.

I know this is probably unlikely, but with all the changes to health plans with Obamacare, is it possible to "transfer" one's Medicaid from NY to NJ? Meaning if one was eligible for Medicaid in NY and is "locked in" for a year, and he moves to NJ after a few months when he's no longer eligible, does he have to apply normally and demonstrate eligibility? Or can he just show them the approval letter from Medicaid in NY that he's on their plan until next year?
Thanks!

Upon getting acceptance letter from Jersey Care, what do I call to select HMO? Do I have to wait for another letter? I need to fill a prescription asap.

You will not get on to an HMO until at the earliest the next calendar month. YOu should be able to fill the prescription with straight Jersey Care though.

As far as I know, it can't be done. And according to rep I spoke with, you must cancel your NY Medicaid before applying for Jersey care.

Most pharmacies take straight jersey care you'll need the medicare number but be aware that not all pharmacist s are familiar with how to do it, don't take a no... and wen you get the letter to choose an HMO take care of it asap or they choose for you (they may choose one for you anyway)

I believe the cut off to get on an HMO for the following month is the 14th of the month. Otherwise you wait a month and half

Thanks. Is it possible to use NY Medicaid in NJ until we get onto Jersey Care?

what is the process if one just realised after tax filing that they exceeded the limit with Jerseycare a few months ago? need to send a letter to the county etc? will it take them a few months to respond and will be covered during this time?

Having a diff issue. They missed the part on the application (renewal) where I checked off pregnant, got terminated immediately. In mean time no coverage at any doctor visits. I was told 2 months ago it will expedited and would hear from someone in 3-5 days....keep on calling back but no luck....
