I just got a letter that my spouse and I and child over 19 (rest of kids are fine)
are going to be terminated because I make to much (around $200 a month over, I recently started a new job after my my old place closed down and was out of a job) I get paid twice a month but they don't count it times two otherwise I would be fine. The lady at the board of social services asked if anything is deducted
like 401k then that would be ok. I was thinking of joining the 401k plan at my work does anyone know if that will help?
There should be a number on your paycheck that says something like "Your federal taxable wages this period are $xxx" that's the number they use, not your gross pay.  If you have any pretax withholding like 401k, HSA, FSA, or Insurance it will bring down your taxable income.
P.S. You are probably eligible for a tax credit if you contribute to a 401k, https://www.irs.gov/retirement-plans/plan-participant-employee/retirement-savings-contributions-savers-credit
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

IRA contributions do help that I know. You'd need show documentation that you're making these contributions. A letter from an Accountant stating that your MAGA  is determined to be lower based on this, should also help them accept it.

Anybody know of a dentist that uses lasers instead of a drill (that accepts Jersey care)?

Also are lasers as good as a drill? @ushdadude  ?

The discussion was about overreporting on the application in order to be disqualified for Medicaid. Not sure how doable that is when all a person has is salaried income, that gets reported quarterly. Whereas with inconsistent business income (which is the topic of discussion), the actual reconciliation between what's on the application and actual taxable income would only take place many months later, and could be just a bad estimate.

Why would anyone prefer to not qualify for free Medicaid and rather pay for a QHP (even if subsidized by a tax credit)

After some additional thought, I believe the idea of trying to have too much income for Medicaid in order to qualify for a QHP APTC is only applicable in states that didn't expand Medicaid, thereby leaving a gap for people who earn too much for Medicaid but too little for the QHP tax credit.

Confirmed UHC is dropping CHOP soon. Probably June 30.
They are probably negotiating with another JC HMO but not confirmed.

Bad news.

For an adult does Jersey care cover eyeglasses?
Yes
Seems like they cover either $40 or $100 depending on the strength of the prescription. Does anyone know what the cutoff point is for the higher coverage?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

If I get kicked off jerseycare,
how much would I have to pay for similar coverage for my family?
Would anyone have a ballpark figure?

With no deductible and low copays like Jersey Care? With a $7k or so deductible, probably about $1,500-$1,800 a month. Correct me if I'm wrong.
