and besides disposables? Reason being its a very easy item to import so lots of competiton. No hashgacha needed etc non Jewish doesn't use it in the same way as us.
Ding ding ding
If the stores were "ripping us off", they would do that on disposables as well. But they're operating like any other business. They charge you a markup that is in line with the industry. If store A ripped you off on produce, store B would come in with cheaper produce and A would be toast. Because frum families use way more disposables than the average US family, the kosher stores get their merchandise for cheaper, and the price is passed on to consumers. Not that they're giving us charity, their markup still leaves the price below the chain stores.
